Resident Doctors to boycott all medical camps

NEW DELHI, APRIL 2017:

In the wake of the ongoing attacks on resident doctors in government hospitals by certain misguided, misinformed and disgruntled patients and their relatives, and the apathy of the administration, the resident doctors of various government hospitals in Delhi have decided that no doctor will participate in any charitable medical camp.

In a press statement, Dr Pankaj Solanki, president of Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA), said, “No doctor in any government, non-government, society or association shall work beyond his duty hours and will follow duty conditions laid down as per service conditions of residency scheme or labour laws."

“All students are hereby specially directed that they will not allow any exploitation by their seniors/ teachers in the name of teaching to force them to work extra for this hostile population,” says the statement.

Dr Solanki states that the association has directed all residents to look after emergency patients in their full capacity and on priority to see that there is no negligence in services in their personal capacity.
