Over 3 Lakh Intoxicant Tablets, Powder Seized
Phagwara, 1 Sept 2018: Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid on a pharmaceutical factory - Long Life Pharmaceutical Co - and seized a huge quantity of intoxicant powder and tablets here on Saturday late night.
ASP Sandeep Malik and DSP (Investigation) Manpreet Dhillon were a part of the police team that conducted the raid. Drug Inspector Dr Navdeep Singh Sandhu was also present on the occasion.
The factory has also been sealed by the police.
While talking to The Tribune, ASP Malik said the owner of the factory - Dr Mandip Singh - and five employees had been taken into police custody for further investigation.
A case under Sections of the NDPS Act has been registered.
ASP Malik said 3,66,780 intoxicant tablets and 16.600 kg of intoxicant powder were seized from the factory.
He said during the raid, the owner of the factory could not produce documents of the tablets.The Tribune
