Medicines on the public market are no different: experts

Nagpur, January 31, 2022:

Although the government has given permission to the common market for Covid Covishield and Covaxin canes for use in the adult population under certain conditions, experts believe the move will not change.

But India needs to release corn to poor countries and end the disparity in supply needed to eradicate the disease, doctors say.

“If India has more production of medicines, it should sell and not supply them at no cost to other countries which has a lower coverage,” said Dr Ravi Wankhedkar. , Treasurer of the World Medical Association (WMA).

He pointed out that only 8% of drugs are available in Africa. “In order to eradicate this disease, it is important for everyone in the world to have at least two grains of corn,” he said.

Community health expert Dr Nilesh Vighne said there was a free supply of medicine in India and not many ordinary people wanted to buy cannabis. “This was confirmed when the government kept 25% of the vaccines reserved for private hospitals in the past. Private hospitals cannot use the vaccines. They have lost their life,” he said. Dr Vigne, in addition, said there may be a logistical problem related to the data and safety of the grains supplied from the open market.

Pediatrician Dr Sanjay Marathe raised the issue of documenting the recorded population. “So far, the government has meticulous care of the record of detainees. There is a system in place to verify that a person has first been admitted and obtained a certificate. Who will take care of that. the history of the open market ?, “he asked.

“It’s good that Indian -made corn is available in the market. This shows the safety and quality of our corn. But the move could help those who want to get it. their booster dose in a broad -based setting, ”he added.

Some doctors see this move as timely. “Everyone wants a booster now. So paying and getting it in the open market will save crores of government rupees. People who want to get a booster can afford it.” buy their grain. Or they have to wait their turn according to their age, “said Dr Vikram Reddy, a doctor. ET HealthWorld
