Icmr approves Covid Test Kit Made In State

The Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) kit, developed in collaboration with the Center for Regional Medical Research (RMRC) by a Bhubaneswar-based company to support the Make-in-Odisha initiative, has been approved by the Indian Medical Research Council. I did. Used to detect Covid-19.

Sanghamitra Pati, director of RMRC Hubaneswar, said the test kit (ImCOV-Ag) developed by IMGENEX India has extremely high sensitivity and specificity and can detect all variants of Covid-19.

While the RMRC was conducting an internal verification, a third party (a group of experts in Kerala) evaluated its effectiveness and accuracy.

ICMR has approved the test kit based on RMRC verification and third party quality audits.

Sujay Singh, founder of IMGENEX India, said the company could produce up to 200,000 rupees a month by April.

“With ICMR approval on Thursday, production planning is immediate.

Actual production can start within a month or two. You can produce 2 rack kits with your existing settings, but this will increase to produce 20 rack kits a month, “says Shin.

He said the states of East India will be readily available as this will be the first test kit in the eastern region.
