Haryana: Man Held With Narcotic Drugs In Ambala
AMBALA, 19 JULY 2020:
Ambala police on Saturday arrested a man after recovering 2,656 narcotic capsules and tablets from his possession under limits of Mahesh Nagar police station.
Police said the accused was identified as Jatinder Sharma alias Johny of Industrial Area in Ambala Cantt. He was presented before a court on Sunday, which sent him to a two-day police remand for further investigation.
Meanwhile, on the complaint of sub-inspector (SI) Balkar Singh, a case against accused Jatinder has been registered under Section 21 (c) (punishment for contravention in relation to manufactured drugs and preparations) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Mahesh Nagar police station.
SI Balkar stated, “Our team received the tip-off that Jatinder sells narcotic medicines and he would be heading towards Shyam Nagar. Acting accordingly, a checking post was laid near Nagpal Chowk in Mahesh Nagar area and the suspect was spotted with a bag in his hand. Upon frisking, we recovered 1,856 narcotic capsules and 800 narcotic tablets from his possession.” The Times Of India
