Four Booked For Selling Fake N95 Masks

Bapunagar police on Sunday booked four persons in Odhav for selling fake N95 masks. Officials of the company, 3M India, approached the police that duplicate N95 masks of their company are being sold in the city.
A team of Prevention of Crime Branch, accompanied by the company officials, went to the shop, 'Ma creation', in Sumul Business Park located in Bapunagar.
They found fake N95 masks of 3M India company being sold there, and arrested four persons from the shop. Police seized 1780 masks worth around Rs 9.8 lakh.
Arrested persons are , Kiran Jethwa, 32, of Vastral, Kamlesh Mehta, 50, of Sabarmati, Niraj Bhatia, 37, of Sabarmati and Ghanshyam Nagrani of Chiloda in the case. Kamlesh Gangwani of Hansol, who used to market the counterfeit masks is absconding.
Police sources said during primary interrogation it has been learnt that the logo of the branded company was supplied by one Kamlesh Gangwani to the detained accused, and they had been selling the masks for last two months.
Bapunagar police said they are searching for the absconding accused. DrugsControl
