Ayush Ministry To Train Regulators And Quality Control Personnel On Regulatory Capacity Building

Union Ayush Ministry would be providing regulatory capacity building training to government analysts, drug inspectors and quality control personnel at Pharmacopoeial Laboratory for Indian Medicine (PLIM), Ghaziabad as per a prescribed schedule for the year 2019-20.
The participants include professionals from government pharmacies and institutions in Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani systems of medicine.
A training calendar for regulatory capacity building training for 2019-20 has been circulated to the concerned stakeholders. The training calendar has also been sent to all state drug control authorities and licensing authorities and state drug testing laboratories to sponsor the participants as per the schedule.
A drug enforcement programme will be conducted from September 4 to 5, 2019 for officials and drug inspectors followed by a quality control programme for personnel from October 21 to 25, 2019.
Another drug enforcement programme will be conducted from November 7 to 9, 2019 for officials and drug inspectors. Subsequent to which a quality control programme for personnel will be conducted from December 2 to 5, 2019.
Nominations for training are to be forwarded through respective state or central drug control authorities one month in advance of training schedule mentioning contact number and email address of the participants.
PLIM which is a subordinate office of the Union health ministry is also a standards setting cum drugs testing laboratory at national level for Indian medicines which include drugs of Ayurveda, Unani and Siddha systems.
The lab lays down standards of single drugs to be incorporated in Ayurveda, Unani and Siddha pharmacopoeia. It also lays down standards of compound formulations included in Ayurveda, Unani and Siddha formularies.
It has also been entrusted to analyse survey, official samples and samples received from drug control authorities. It also collects genuine samples of crude drugs from different afro-climatic zones of the country for pharmacopoeial standardisation. Pharmabiz
