Agra Police Seizes Illegal Drugs Worth Rs 4 Crore, Arrests Accused

The Agra Police has arrested several persons with narcotics and psychotropic drugs worth Rs 4 crore. Pankaj Gupta alias Chandrakant Gupta, an international drug dealer, was among others arrested on Tuesday.
The drugs, packaged in medicine wrappers, are being supplied to other cities. A Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) team from Delhi and the Agra Police had been investigating the case.
Pankaj, his brother Aman, sisters, and parents, too, are involved in the illegal business. The police are now searching for the associates of Pankaj. Agra SSP Bablu Kumar told India Today that Pankaj has been running this illegal business for the last five years. Pankaj's family got involved in it after because of the huge profit. They supply abortion kits for illegal abortions too. These kits, repackaged with new names and rates, are being supplied to Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and other cities of Uttar Pradesh.
SSP Kumar said that the accused have been charged with several criminal acts. So far, illegal and narcotic drugs worth Rs 7 crore have been recovered in Agra.
Pankaj said that these drugs are in high demand in Punjab, and he supplies all these at a premium rate. Now, the drugs department is preparing the details of all the involved drug dealers, which also includes Vicky Arora, Kapil Arora, Pramod Jaipuriya, and Gaurav. Bhartiya Muslim Vikas Parishad chairman Sami Aghai said that "these narcotics are destroying the future of the young generation". Schoolkids can be seen using these drugs which has a detrimental effect on their mental and physical development. These drug dealers should be punished, he said.India Today
