6 Shops And Clinics Found Selling Drugs Without Licence

Solan, 24 Sept 2018: A team of officials from the Drug Control Administration and police raided 10 premises at Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur on Monday and found at least 6 of them selling drugs without a valid drug license. A case under the relevant sections of the Drugs and Cosmetic Act 1940 has been registered against them.

 

A team led by DSP and comprising DSP, Sirmaur, Pratibha Chauhan and a Sub Inspector, SHO as well as Assistant Drug Controller and three drug inspectors were part of the team which conducted this raid.

 

DSP Paonta Sahib Pramod Chauhan, while confirming the news, said one shop in Misserwala belonging to Mohammed Ajam Ansari was sealed for various violations of the said Act.

 

He said more such raids would be carried out in the future to ensure compliance of the Act.

 

He said six other people running clinics and other shops were booked under section 18 (C) of the said Act for non disclosure of bills, etc.

 

These comprised Amjad Khan, who was found running Amjad Clinic, Shamshad Ali who runs Shamshad Clinic, Mohammed Ansari, Dushashan Sarkar, Pratish Kumar who runs Clinic Majra and Pintu Lal Bishwas.The Tribune
