5th Universal Health camp conducted
12,June,2016: PSM India, conducted the 5th Universal Health Camp on Sunday under the aegis of Patient Safety and Access Initiative of India Foundation and Mata Anandmayee Hospital in Kalvari, Madihan, Mirzapur on Sunday. The camp to register citizens for the Medical Card was held at the local school premises in Village Kalvari, Madihan, Mirzapur.
The said camp was held from 12:45pm till 5:30pm with 3 doctors from Mata Anandmayee Hospital, Shivala, Varanasi. Since the venue was 90kms away from Varanasi, the team to register could only reach around 12:45pm and the team of 3 doctors could only reach by 2:00pm. Along with the doctors, there were 2 attendants to help register the patients and 3-4 attendants to help distribute free medicine to any patients at the camp itself. There was also an attendant to take photographs and 2 people to do the blood group testing.
The 3 doctors saw 165 patients in a span of 3.5 hours and lots of medicines were given to whoever was prescribed the same for their respective ailments.
There were 4 patients that required surgery and they have been advised to visit the hospital for their procedures. It was a successful camp in terms of achieving more of our targeted audience in an area outside of Varanasi but also showed us what all facilities we need to have for bigger and larger camps that will be held over the next five months.
This camp was organised by Gaurav Kapoor as assigned by founder, director Mr. Bejon Misra on behalf of Patient Safety and Access Initiative of India Foundation with the blessings of Swamiji of Mata Anandmayee Hospital.
We propose further weekly camps and slowly increasing them in size, the number of doctors and the number of hours to ensure a bigger reach of Mata Anandmayee Hospital, Jan Aushadhi Kendra and the medical card on offer with its many unique benefits. This will help us slowly build toward and achieve all the objectives we have set out to in this exercise.
