Haryana: Huge Cache Of Narcotics Seized In Ambala, Two Held

AMBALA, 8 JULY 2020:

 

In another big seizure of narcotics in Ambala district, the crime investigation agency (CIA) Naraingarh on Tuesday arrested two accused after recovering 100 bottles of cough syrup and 5,800 narcotic capsules from their possession under limits of Shahazadpur police station, said the superintendent of police (SP) Abhishek Jorwal.

 

The arrested accused have been identified as Ravi Chaudhary of Manimajra, Chandigarh and Rahul Mittal of Rajiv Colony, Sector 17, Panchkula, said the police.

 

Ambala SP Jorwal said, “Two accused Ravi and Rahul were arrested acting on the tip-off with 100 bottles of cough syrup and 5,800 narcotic capsules from near Pathreri village bus stand on national highway 344 in Shahzadpur police station area. On Wednesday, both accused Ravi and Rahul were presented in the Ambala court which granted their two-day police remand for further investigation.”

 

Meanwhile, on the complaint of sub-inspector (SI) Brahampal, a case against both accused has been registered under Section 21 (punishment for contravention in relation to manufactured drugs and preparartions) and 22 (punishment for contravention in relation to psychotropic substances) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Shahzadpur police station on Tuesday.

 

Ambala SP Jorwal said this is second such big seizure of drugs within last 10 days in the district as earlier the CIA-I had arrested two accused Vijay Pal Singh and Kulbir Singh of Ludhiana district after recovering 100 bottles of syrup and 51,000 narcotic tablets under limits of Baldev Nagar police station on July 4 and one accused Subhash of Chulkana village in Panipat district was also arrested in this case.

 

SP Jorwal added the investigations in both these cases are ongoing. The Times Of India
