Spurious and unsafe medicines, a growing worldwide criminal trend that endangers patients’ life. The internet is the biggest unregulated market in the world – and a place where you can easily become the victim of dishonest online pharmacies. According to WHO, in over 50% of cases, medicines purchased over the Internet from illegal sites that conceal their physical address have been found to be spurious. Therefore, treating yourself with medicines is a responsible act,  beware of fake drugs!! 

PSM India cautions all its readers in every newsletter that it’s unwise to buy medicines from websites that sell prescription drugs without a prescription. Increasing awareness is critical to fight against spurious medicines and illegal pharmacies as they are the real threat to health. 

In India, much disparity arose with the discussion of whether pharmacists could prescribe medicines.
