Lucknow: Meditation and a balanced lifestyle not only shield individuals from chronic diseases but also help maintain youthfulness by reducing free radicals, which are waste products generated by cells after food metabolism. These free radicals are implicated in the ageing process and contribute to various chronic health issues, including cardiovascular and inflammatory diseases, cataracts, and cancer.
These insights were brought forth by experts at the 22nd annual conference of the All India Cosmetologists and Beauticians Association (AICBA) held on Sunday. The conference placed a significant focus on the crucial role of meditation and a balanced lifestyle in enhancing both physical and mental well-being.
During the event, Professor Amod Kumar Sachan, specialising in pharmacology at KGMU, highlighted the strong correlation between spirituality and health. He elucidated, “Under stress, the body can produce about 2 lakh free radicals every second, surpassing the immune cells’ capacity.”
Professor Sachan underscored the role of spiritual practices, such as meditation, in eliminating negativity and fostering inner peace, ultimately contributing to a healthier and more radiant appearance. Addressing the conference, Professor AK Singh, a plastic surgeon, discussed advancements in hair transplant techniques. He cautioned that not everyone is a suitable candidate for hair transplants, especially those with specific medical conditions. Additionally, he talked about the dynamic nature of hair as a living part of the body, undergoing continuous cycles of growth and fall throughout life.
