TSDCA To Deliver Entire Range Of Its Services Through Online Mode As It Becomes Part Of TS-IPass

Hyderabad, 24 Jan 2019: Bringing the Telangana State Drug Control Administration (TSDCA) under the ambit of Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self Certification System (TS-iPass), authorities at the TSDCA have decided to deliver all the services through online mode, to make it more transparent and accountable and take decisions in a time bound manner giving no scope for delays in issuing drug licenses and inspection reports pertaining to pharma companies and medical shops in the state.

By adopting the TS-iPass industrial policy system, the TSDCA is also becoming as part of ‘ Ease of Doing Business’ by taking its entire range of services online and making its office literally go paper less.

Earlier a few years ago, the TSDCA had embarked on the policy of issuing licenses online and adopted new Online Drug Licensing System (ODLS) and until recently was providing online licenses for drug manufacturing and sales units in the state.

However, as the state government of Telangana had adopted the new industrial policy (TS-iPass) and TSDCA is also considered a major department relating to the pharma, drug and chemical manufacturing firms, now the DCA has decided to roll out its entire range of services through online in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC).

With this, the drug regulatory body has also become part of TS-iPass and the DCA should also follow the mandatory process of issuing permissions, licenses, certificates and other facilities in a time bound manner.

Most importantly, while the DCA officials who are on the fields to go and inspect pharmacy stores and pharma manufacturing units, they used to take lot of time to file reports and sometimes the process was also regarded as opaque with no proper transparency. Overcoming this, now with the adoption of online delivery of services, the DCA authorities have decided to make its entire drug inspection manual online, which means that drug inspectors will prepare their inspection reports during field visits to medical shops, blood banks and hospitals and pharmaceutical companies on the spot and upload their observations and reports immediately without any delay.

“The main purpose of doling out the entire range of DCA services through online is to make the processes more transparent, accountable and speed up the decision making in a time bound manner. Using this, we will be adopting the TS-iPass Charter and as stipulated in the industrial policy, every service by DCA will be delivered in a time bound manner,” said Preethi Meena, TSDCA Director.  Pharmabiz
