SC Launches E- Copying Software To Ease Contactless Delivery Of Attested Copies Of Judgments
New Delhi, 17 March 2021:
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court has launched the online e-copying software to ease doorstep and contactless delivery of attested copies of the judgments. Consequently, it will not be necessary for participants to physically come to the counter of the Registry to apply and acquire such copies.
This e-copying software is available on the website of the SC i.e., www.sci.gov.in, will ease participants to get the same by making online payment of the required copies charges and postal fee, then the e-copying software itself and the attested copies will be delivered at the postal address of the applicant, but the first attested copy will be provided through e-mail free of cost to the entitled participants as allowed under SC Rules, 2013 and a Handbook on practice and procedure and office procedure, 2017. Also, the launch of e-software doesn’t foresee a change in the existing rule (it will continue to remain in practice) but furnishes for a supplementary online mechanism to apply for attested copies. One can also receive the same from the designated physical registry counter.
