Rimdol 50 Caps Worth Over Rs 2 Crore Seized In Manipur

IMPHAL, 8 SEPT 2019:

 

A huge consignment of controlled drugs worth Rs 2,04,72,750, which was heading for Myanmar via Moreh town, was confiscated on Saturday at the headquarters of Manipur's Jiribam district bordering Assam.

 

Following inputs about trafficking of illegal items along the Jiribam-Imphal highway, a team of Jiribam Police and anti-drug cell personnel, carried out frisking and checking at strategic areas of the headquarters since the last couple of days. On Friday night around 7.30 pm, police recovered 9099 strips of Tramadol Hydrochloride (Rimdol-50) capsules kept in three cartons from a truck, said a statement issued by SP (Jiribam) M Mubi Singh.

 

One person, identified as N Races aka Yaima (19) of the Toupokpi Sabal Leikai area in Imphal East district, has been arrested for unauthorised possession of the drugs.

 

A source said the Centre has declared the seized pain killer drug as a psychotropic substance and its sales are under the control of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (ND&PS) Act. The Times Of India
