Jharkhand govt invites EoI from investors for the proposed pharma park at Bijupara in Ranchi
Ranchi, December 14, 2021:
The Government of Jharkhand has invited expression of interest (EoI) from pharma entrepreneurs from across the country to establish units of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), key intermediates and formulation units at its proposed Pharma Park at Bijupara near Ranchi.
The government of Jharkhand is in an attempt to make the state as the pharmaceutical hub of the north eastern states. Supporting to that mission the department of industries has developed the concept of an integrated pharma and food processing park at Bijupara in Ranchi district. Sources from the department of health have informed Pharmabiz that for realization of the park concept, the government has identified 50 acres of land. The department will provide necessary infrastructure and available incentives through various schemes under the central and state governments.
The investing companies will be provided incentives as per government of India’s ‘Production Linked Incentives’ as applicable for Greenfield pharmaceutical units and the incentives applicable as per Jharkhand industrial policy.
The state government has assured that it is committed to offer an industry friendly environment for expansion of existing pharmaceutical companies as well as for new investors to invest in manufacturing and allied segments of the pharma production.
Sources have informed that the government is ready to develop the infrastructure and other common facilities for the integrated park. The facilities will include 80 ft wide concrete approach road from the national highway to the project site with street lights and road side arboriculture in addition to the existing 22 ft wide PWD road.
Raw water for industrial use from canal or dam, supply of electricity/power - 250 KV by Jharkhand electricity board, facilitation services to obtain environmental clearances, regulatory clearances and other industrial approvals etc will also be provided.
Further the industry department will create multi-utility facilities in the park, for which 55 numbers of plots have been earmarked and they will be allotted to the special purpose vehicle (SPV) floated for the development of the park on reserved prices. The SPV can avail assistances under various schemes of the government and contribution by beneficiary units.
The proposed multi utility facilities will include solvent recovery and distillation plant, captive power plant, boiler (red, orange, green) and cooling system, incubation facilities, advance common testing centre/analytical testing laboratories of GLP standards and common logistics.
Talking to Pharmabiz about the park, Suman Tiwari, deputy drugs controller and special officer for the pharma project said the state of Jharkhand has the most conducive eco-system for manufacturing industry. The Pharmaceutical industry in Jharkhand is still in its blossoming stage and a total of 90 such units are operating in various parts of the state. Out of the 99 units, 55 units produce allopathic medicines, 9 produce homeopathic products, three units engage in the production of cosmetics, 22 produce ayurvedic products and one company manufactures medical devices. The corporative training centre and other industry related institutions are functioning not far away from the project site and they provide a comfortable atmosphere to the investors.
He said the government hopes that the proposed pharma park will provide employment opportunities to one lakh pharmacy graduates. PharmaBiz
