Indian healthcare encounters challenges in infrastructure funding and access to right talent. With the demand outstripping the supply, employers in this industry are ramping up their brand image as healthcare employees have been logging into career sites, viewing company profiles, and to ascertain the work environment.

Sachin Alug, CEO, NLB Services which is a company that focusing on staffing and recruitment challenges in the healthcare sector, said that the post pandemic, the healthcare sector has evolved. Employees are looking for a safe place while demanding work-life balance. In fact, as per studies in healthcare, most healthcare professionals vote for employer branding as the foremost recruiting resource. Apart from increasing awareness of employer branding, virtual recruiting and flexible hours are other trends making their way into the healthcare industry.

Despite the integration of digital technology, the Indian healthcare system is still witnessing multiple challenges in terms of infrastructure funding for building hospitals in tier-2 & tier-3 cities. Additionally, the need to solidify the workforce to address future needs has been increasing, he added.

While the industry has witnessed a shift in consumer behavior, there has been a continuous installation of digital healthcare technologies. Moreover, the adoption of virtual healthcare services has also seen an upsurge, in extending best medical aid from the comfort of the home, he said.

There are multiple challenges that have emerged post the pandemic. Firstly, there is an apprehension among medical practitioners as they are looking for something more than just fat pay cheque. It is imperative that the hired candidate has the right skills as hiring an unqualified candidate can make a difference between life and fatality. With all the prerequisites, hiring in the healthcare sector has become more challenging than ever, observed Alug.

India is one of the leading talent hubs for the healthcare workforce globally and the opportunity in the global healthcare sector for the Indian workforce is huge. In fact, the country’s talent will be the key to solving not just the local bottlenecks but also a solution to the global healthcare workforce shortage that is hurting healthcare systems across the world.

India is one of the largest exporters of healthcare workers to the regions, including Europe, the Gulf region, the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Israel. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) identified 300,000 emerging jobs in the health sector in nations like the United Kingdom (UK), the United States (US), Germany, Sweden, Australia, Japan, and Singapore by the end of this year.

It is here NLB Services has a dedicated solution that solves the staffing and recruitment challenges in this sector as it can support healthcare professionals to explore job opportunities in leading medical facilities, said Alug. Pharmabiz
