Homoeopaths to hold Vijnan Sammelan in Hyderabad on April 9 to deliberate on various problems

Chennai, March 11, 2023 :

The homoeopaths across the country will assemble on a common platform at the IICT Auditorium in Hyderabad on April 9 to deliberate on various problems faced by the practitioners and to promote homoeopathic remedies for easy cure of diseases as well as to find ways to advance homoeopathy medical practices in all the areas of healthcare management in India, on the lines of other countries.

The practitioners’ assemblage in Hyderabad happens on the day before the World Homoeopathy Day which falls on April 10 every year. Although the meeting is in the style of a national get-together, the conference mainly targets homeopathy doctors from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The national conference is titled as ‘National Vijnan Sammelan’ and it will be attended by speakers from all the states in India.

The one-day programme is organized jointly by the Global Homoeopathy Foundation (GHF) and the Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), an NGO to promote Indian science, engineering and technology, says Prof Dr S Praveen Kumar, secretary of the GHF, based in Hyderabad.

Briefing the programmes with Pharmabiz, he said, the meeting will decide a series of programmes to be conducted in the whole year in different places in the country. Conferences, seminars and workshops will be conducted every month. Further, the leaders of the association will ponder over unveiling a statue of the first qualified Indian homoeopathy practitioner, Dr. Mahendralal Sarkar who was the leading homoeopath during the second half of the 19th Century in Kolkata. Dr. Sarkar was also the personal doctor of the Swami Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. A statue of the doctor will be unveiled in Kolkata in memory of his services by the GHF along with various associations of homoeopaths.

Talking about the scope and growth of the system in India, Dr. Praveen Kumar said according to World Health Organisation (WHO) reports, the accessibility of homoeopathy medicines has increased 25% in the last two years. Since the side effects or negative effects are very less compared to other systems, a large number of people are availing the system and their number is increasing in India. As on today, 82 countries are following the system and it is the second largest healthcare system in the world after allopathy, he said.

When asked why were the homoeopathy practitioners restrained from treating patients during the Covid pandemic, he said there was no restriction on the system or practice, but were allowed to distribute the medicine ‘Arsenicum Album 30C’ as a prophylaxis to prevent viral diseases like Covid-19. He further said there was huge demand for the medicine during the pandemic period and it helped in preventing the viral diseases. Promotion of the scientific development of homoeopathy is much more required to the common man across India today. This area will also be an agenda for discussion at the Vijan Sammelan in Hyderabad, he said.

“The Homeo Vijnan Sammelan will discuss strategies on how to promote the system and encourage people to avail homoeopathy for their medical needs. Promotional work is mandatory in a competitive world. The Union Ayush minister and the secretary of Ayush are expected to attend the meeting as chief guest and guest of honour,” the secretary of the GHF added.  Pharmabiz
