Chennai, November 12, 2022:

The Goa chapter of the World Ayurveda Foundation (WAF) in association with AMMOI will host the 9th World Ayurveda Congress (WAC) and Arogya Expo at Panaji in Goa from December 8 to 11.

The theme of this year’s event is ‘Ayurveda for One Health’.

The WAC will have participation from all parts of the world in addition to representation from each state of the country. From Kerala, the hub of Ayurveda, AMMOI will represent the mega event and send one hundred delegates besides becoming part of the exhibition, says Dr. D Ramanathan, general secretary of the association and vice-chairman of the organizing committee of the mega event.

The four-day event is supported by the union ministry of Ayush and the health ministry of Goa. About 5000 delegates will be coming to Goa from different parts of the world to attend the congress and the mega show. This is the first time Goa hosts a global Ayurveda conference like WAC.

The exhibition will have a display of products and technologies including classical and proprietary drugs manufactured by different companies, raw drugs and other raw-materials collected by cultivators, and machinery required for the production units. The four-day event will cover several scientific and technical conferences with 16 oral presentations.

According to AMMOI, the objective of WAC is to bring Ayurveda into global focus as well as to escalate the system to the level of an affordable healthcare system to enable all the people of the world to access it. The traditional health system needs to be supported by all for the wellness of the human beings, and its growth and development should be in harmony with the modern medical practices, opines the secretary of the AMMOI.

It is expected that captains of leading Ayurveda industries from across India, faculty members of Ayurveda institutions, practitioners, students, traditional healers, educationists, medicinal plant cultivators and marketing company leaders will attend the programme. Dr.Ramanathan said the 9th WAC will be a good platform for all stakeholders of Ayurveda and other traditional healing systems to learn and exchange views and ideas.

He said the previous world Ayurveda congress events had made wonderful results and this time too it will create a good impact.Pharmabiz
