Fake Sanitiser Unit Unearthed In Faridabad

Faridabad, 21 March 2020:

The district drugs control authorities recovered a large quantity of fake sanitisers allegedly being made in a factory operated from a residential colony here on Saturday.

A complaint has been lodged with the police for legal action in this connection.

The unit located in a house of Old Press Colony in the NIT area here was raided by the team of the District Drugs Control Department after a tip-off. Though it is reported that the officials seized a huge lot of the sanitisers that had been produced without a licence or regulations, the total quantity of the recovered product could not be ascertained till the last report.

This is the first such raid and recovery after the reports of acute shortage of hand sanitisers and masks in the market. Though the officials have announced an action against those medical stores who indulge in black marketing or hoarding of sanitisers, it is revealed that residents are told of shortfall of supply or unavailability of such items by a majority of the medical stores despite the claims made by the officials concerned.
