FOPE, RPMA jointly launch FPCR startup in Jaipur for commercialization of research in health and pharma

Mumbai, February 25, 2023 :

The Federation of Pharma Entrepreneurs (FOPE) and Rajasthan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (RPMA) have jointly launched Foundation for Promotion of Commercialization of Research (FPCR) Startup in Jaipur for industry and academia to collaborate towards accomplishing commercialization of research already done or being done in health and pharma in India and globally.

FPCR Startup was inaugurated by Vinod Kalani, president, FOPE in Jaipur recently.

“Industry-academia interface and collaboration is the need of the hour today. Academia is involved in research for academic interest and most of the time academicians are happy and satisfied with putting the prefix, Dr., before their names; while companies, most of the time, are involved in their routine production and marketing activities giving not much emphasis to R&D activities. Research involves resources, man-hours, money, expertise and most of the time it remains confined in bookshelves and libraries with no or little commercial output,” said Prof (Dr) BP Nagori, founder, FPCR.

“Hence, there is a dire need to move research 'from the shelf' to 'the one who needs that research' and also to promote research that is need-based, tailored and guided,” he added.

Dr Nagori, Alumnus of BITS, Pilani (also Alumnus of LM College of Pharmacy, Ahmedabad and Jodhpur Management Programme, Jodhpur) and Prof (Dr) Rakesh Gupta, Alumnus of BITS, Pilani have co-founded FPCR (www.fpcrglobal.org) to bring together research providers (individual researcher, research group, R&D industry, R&D center and R&D organization) and research seekers (employing organization and organization willing to engage as a research provider) on a common platform to match their needs. The research providers (academia) shall showcase their research for research seekers (industry) who can commercialize it, thus creating a win-win situation for both.

“Initially, we will focus on research areas related to the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector. Later on, with our given strength of global network, we shall increase the domain to other research areas and industry sectors such as veterinary and animal sciences. This will not only add value to the research but also help humanity by making research available to mankind,” according to Prof (Dr) Rakesh Gupta, co-founder, FPCR.

On the occasion, Satori One Click Solutions LLP (satoriocs.com) was also unveiled.
