Drugs Seized From Chemist
Amritsar, 8 June 2018: Officials of the drug wing of the Health Department seized 12 types of allopathic drugs, including Sildenafil, Tramadol, Alprazolam and Lorazepam, worth Rs 22,000 from a chemist in Ajnala on Thursday. Besides, samples of three medicines, which were not stored as per recommendations, have been collected.
The team of drug wing officials stated that New Malhi Medical Hall failed to produce purchase records of the medicines which were seized. Further, the samples of three medicines, which are required to be kept in refrigeration, were taken as no such measure was adopted by the shopkeeper. Drug inspectors Sukhdeep Singh, Amarpal Malhi and DS Randhawa, senior investigator, Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance, who conducted the inspection, said no pharmacist was available at the shop which was necessary as per the law.
