Crime Branch To Probe Fake Tocilizumab Case

The case of the rebranding and selling synthetic steroids as Covid-19 drug Crime Branch to probe fake Tocilizumab case was on Wednesday handed over to the Ahmedabad Crime Branch for investigation, a day after an FIR for attempted murder was filed against five accused at Vastrapur police station.

 

An intra-state racket run by former Mr Amdavad Harsh Thakor, a gym trainer, his associates Akash and Ashish Shah who are medical store owners, Nilesh Laliwala and Sohel Ismail Tai, who runs a fake Pharmaceutical company Genic Pharma in Surat, was busted by the Gujarat Food and Drugs Control Administration (FDCA).

 

Ashish Shah and Harsh Thakor are currently under detention and their swabs had been collected for RT-PCR testing for Covid-19. Meanwhile, other accused are all absconding and wanted by the police. A team of Surat cops also returned empty-handed after travelling there to apprehend Sohel Ismail Tai, the person in house the mislabeling, filling of ampoules and packing of the fake drugs used to take place.
