Municipal Corporation of Delhi to take up repairs and maintenance of 1,720 projects in health sector

With the funds, repair and maintenance works will be taken up at Hindu Rao Hospital, Swami Dayanand Hospital and Rajan Babu TB Hospital, among others. Additionally, primary healthcare centres in Qutab Garh, Lalkua, Sadar Bazaar, and Jwalapuri are scheduled to undergo building repairs, civil work, and electrical upgrades. Essential items, including surgical and OT instruments for Mata Gujri Hospital, will also be procured.

 

New Delhi: Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) claimsto have initiated work on 1,720 projects in the after allocation of Rs 117 crore funds- Rs 54 crore under the capital head and Rs 63 crore under the revenue head-from the Delhi government.

 

With the funds, repair and maintenance works will be taken up at Hindu Rao Hospital, Swami Dayanand Hospital and Rajan Babu TB Hospital, among others. Additionally, primary healthcare centres in Qutab Garh, Lalkua, Sadar Bazaar, and Jwalapuri are scheduled to undergo building repairs, civil work, and electrical upgrades. Essential items, including surgical and OT instruments for Mata Gujri Hospital, will also be procured.

 

Mayor Shelly Oberoi further announced the establishment of a new maternity centre in Madipur by November.

 

The leader of the opposition in MCD, Raja Iqbal Singh, however, claimed that the amount allocated for health infrastructure was insufficient. "Ever since AAP took over the power of MCD, the hospital system has been deteriorating. In the corporation hospitals, there are neither medicines, nor cleanliness systems," he alleged.
