Mr. Wajahat Habibullah
Mr. Wajahat Habibullah (IAS Retd.) is the Chairperson of Patient Safety And Access Initiative of India Foundation.
He was the first Chief Information Commissioner of India under the Right To Information Act 2005. After serving the country in the Indian Administrative Service since 1986, he retired as the Secretary to the Government of India in 2005.
He was Secretary to the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Department of Consumer Affairs in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, apart from being the Chairperson of the National Commission for Minorities. A senior fellow at the United States Institute of Peace in 2003-04, Mr. Habibullah received the Rajiv Gandhi Award for Excellence in Secularism and the Gold Medal for Distinguished Service.
