KERELA : Drugs worth Rs. 6 lakhs have been seized by officials of the Assistant Drug Control office in Ernakulam, Kerala from a wholesale dealer in Kadavanthra, Kochi. S Revi Menon, the assistant drugs controller at Ernakulam, said the weight, measure and volume of some of the ingredients were not mentioned on the drug labels, which is in violation of rule 95 (ii) of Drugs and Cosmetics Rules. Consequently, the drugs were classified as “misbranded drugs”. Mr. Menon said that in other instances, lab tests showed that medicines sold for cardiac disease and diabetes did not have the contents they were supposed to have.
