Spurious medicines racket busted in Delhi, valued at Rs 42 lakhs

A special team of the Delhi Police led by Inspector Amit Tomar busted a gang of peddlers who were trading the medicines after recycling in north India. The raid carried out in Delhi and Agra helped in recovering medicines worth Rs 42 lakhs.

India is on the brink of finalising a free trade agreement with the European Union (EU). India became a “strategic partner” with the EU in 2004, and three years later, officials started taking the first steps towards a bilateral free trade agreement. Seven years and 11 rounds later, they’re very close to a deal. International negotiators have hinted at finalising the agreement this summer.

Man given 10 years in Spurious Medicines Case

 

KARACHI: The drugs court on Thursday sentenced a man to one year in prison in a case pertaining to the stocking of unauthorised and spurious medicines. The court foundMohammad Feroz guilty of stocking unauthorised, misbranded, substandard and spurious medicines for sale in the Denso Hall area in September 2010. The accused also failed to produce the drugs sale licence.
