Agreements signed with 11 countries for mutual recognition of Covid vaccines: GovtNew Delhi, October 20, 2021: The health ministry on Wednesday said India has signed agreements for mutual recognition of nationally or WHO recognised COVID-19 vaccines with 11 countries including the UK, France and Germany and fully vaccinated travellers coming from these countries shall be allowed to leave the airport and need not undergo home quarantine and testing.

HC Directs AIIMS To Pay Rs 50 L To Illegally Terminated Employee New Delhi, October 25, 2021: Delhi High Court has directed All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to pay over Rs 50 lakh to a former employee, who was illegally terminated from service, noting that the man has been running from pillar to post for the last several years. Raj Singh, who was appointed as a driver by AIIMS sometime in the 1980s, will also be paid Rs 19,900 as pension every month.
Government Lifted Export Restrictions On Diagnostic KitsOctober 17, 2021: With the number of COVID-19 cases in the country declining, the government lifted export restrictions on all diagnostic kits and reagents, including devices used in the detection of coronavirus infections, on Friday. According to data published on Friday by the Union Health Ministry, India recorded 16,862 new Coronavirus infections, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 3,40,37,592, while active cases fell to 2,03,678, the lowest level in 216 days. With 379 new deaths, the death toll now stands at 4,51814.
First Zika virus case reported in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur Kanpur, October24, 2021: A Zika virus case has been reported in this district of Uttar Pradesh, a health official said on Sunday. He said a warrant officer in the Indian Air Force (IAF) was diagnosed with the infection on Saturday, the first in Kanpur. Chief Medical Officer Nepal Singh said that the IAF officer was suffering from fever for the past several days and was admitted to the Air Force Hospital in the district.

October 20, 2021: The South African drug regulator has rejected the Russian-made coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V, citing some safety concerns the manufacturer wasn’t able to answer. The South African Health Products Regu-latory Authority, or SAHPRA, said in a statement Tuesday that the request for Sputnik V to be authorized could ”not be approved at this time,” referring to past failed HIV vaccines that used a similar technology.
