Mortality rates owing to drug-resistant bacteria in India are more than twice compared to that in high-income countries. Most of the patients who died were either old or admitted to ICUs when they were diagnosed with the infection. OXY99 cans, weighing about 120 grams, have hit over 100 medical stores in the city. Priced at Rs 650 , these cans are sold as an over-the-counter product without any prescription. November 21, 2018: WSB-TV in Atlanta reported on the blinding of a senior citizen after a clinic performed a non-U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved stem cell treatment on her. Doris Tyler believed the procedure would save her failing eyesight. Dealer Charged After The Counterfeit Pill He Sold Killed One In Mount Vernon

November 20, 2018: KIRO 7 News reported on the arrest of a Mount Vernon, Washington man charged with controlled substance homicide. John Mendieta allegedly sold counterfeit Percocet pills laced with fentanyl to a 27-year-old man who died on May 11, 2018. According to KHQ Q6, the Skagit County Prosecuting Attorney's Office identified Ronald Schweigert as that victim. Data retrieved from phones paired with videos collected from several locations led police to arrest Mendieta. Chief Criminal Deputy Prosecutor for Skagit County Rosemary Kaholokula warned the public that pills purchased from anyplace other than a legitimate pharmacy are not always what they appear to be.
