"Only switch medications under the supervision of a doctor or pharmacist” --Mr. Bejon Misra (Founder, PSM India)
Q: I know what medicine my healthcare provider will prescribe, why do I still need a prescription to buy it ?
A: Our laws require that certain drugs can only be dispensed with a valid prescription because they are not safe for use without the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider. Before a healthcare provider issues a prescription for a drug the patient has never taken before, he or she must first examine the patient to determine the appropriate treatment. Pharmacies or websites that don't ask for a prescription, bypass this critical in-person evaluation and deny consumers the protection provided by a licensed healthcare provider. Unfortunately, patients have died from drugs they purchased from online sellers without a valid prescription. AN AWARE CONSUMER IS A PROTECTED CONSUMER Read more |
