Maharashtra FDA has raided several such online pharmacies selling medicines with fake prescriptions. We disclose more on this under the national injections section of our newsletter, in this issue. One person arrested for peddling illegal narcotic drug
HYDERABAD, April 2014: Police arrested one person in Tolichowki area for allegedly procuring 'khat' leaves which are essentially a flowering shrub which has a stimulating narcotic effect, similar to that of cocaine, official sources said.

Wednesday, April 23, 2014, 08:00 Hrs : Urging the government of Uttar Pradesh to take a cue from the neighbouring state of Uttarakhand while posting and allotting duties to pharmacists in the health sub centres (PHCs) in rural areas, the UP branch of the Indian hospital pharmacists association (IHPA) has demanded the government of UP to appoint pharmacists in all the primary health centres in the state as what has been done in Uttarakhand. PSM India Initiative members along with their founder, Mr. Misra visited several districts of Assam to tackle the menace of spurious medicines. Various stake holders and consumer organizations got together with PSM India on this occasion and have decided to launch “Patient Alliance for North Eastern states” very shortly . This alliance shall strive towards protecting the consumers from fake and substandard consumption of medicines and creating awareness towards the same.
