Sale of abortion drugs popular among doctors
KOZHIKODE, FEB, 2013: The district drug control department has found out that majority of the bulk purchase of drugs used for abortion were made by doctors. Of the total sale, 60 per cent of the abortifacients are purchased by doctors, who engage in private practice, reveal the officials with drugs control department in the district clearing that only 40% of such medicines were purchased by retail medical stores.

LONDON, FEB, 2013: In the developing world, drug counterfeiters produce and sell antimalarial drugs that come in the same packaging as and look like drugs made by pharmaceutical companies. But these fake pills may contain too low a dose of the active compounds or lack them completely. A spectroscopic technique can spot counterfeit drugs with improper amounts of active ingredient even when the pills are still in their packaging, reports a team of researchers from the UK (Anal.
