CDSCO declares 67 samples including from pharma majors as NSQ in JanuaryNew Delhi, February 23, 2023 : The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has declared almost five per cent of the drug samples it tested during the month of January as Not of Standard Quality (NSQ), including some of them labelled as manufactured by Sun Pharma Laboratories, Cipla Ltd, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Alkem Health Science, IPCA Laboratories and Eris Lifesciences, among others.

AKCDA demands enquiry against Thanal Pharmacy at Kollam, Kerala for selling drugs at prices less than MRPChennai, February 23, 2023 : The All Kerala Chemists and Druggists Association (AKCDA) has filed a complaint with the state drugs control de-partment seeking an enquiry against a Kollam based pharma retail chain pharmacy firm Thanal Pharmacy, claiming that the chain pharmacy group is resorting to predatory pricing and violates provisions of the DPCO and the CCA.

New Delhi, February 20, 2023 : The patent office has decided to grant patent rights to US-based drug major Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD) for its hepatitis C virus (HCV) drug by rejecting a pre-grant opposition filed by Hyderabad-based Natco Pharma Ltd. The patent application is related to the company’s elbasvir/grazoprevir formulation, which is sold in the US under the brand Zepatier.
