FDA team seizes nine portable ultrasound machines, one held
CHANDIGARH, FEB 2014: A week after busting a racket pertaining to unauthorized sale of handheld ultrasound devices, which were allegedly used for sex determination tests, a team of Haryana food and drugs administration (FDA) on Friday discovered a network of persons, reportedly involved in the sale of portable ultrasound machines resembling laptops, in Bahadurgarh Industrial Area of Jhajjar district.
Punjab minister Bikram Singh Majithia in drug cartel soup
Alleged drug cartel kingpin Jagdish Singh Bhola's revelations to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have put the Punjab government in a tight spot. Bhola, in a written statement to the ED, has said Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia is involved in the Rs.5,000-crore drug racket. PANAJI, FEB 2014: From March 1, the directorate of Food and Drug Administration shall be enforcing restrictions on the sale of 46 drugs, under the new schedule H1 notification.
