Nov 27,2023: Rampant use of antibiotics has become a vicious circle. West Bengal health department has decided to act tough on the sale of antibiotic drugs in retail medicine shops in the state without proper prescription from any registered medical practitioner. The state health department has also decided to work closely with the state animal husbandry department to monitor the rampant use of antibiotic substances in agricultural farms, poultries, hatcheries and pisciculture farms. Nov 21,2023: The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority has set the ceiling prices for nine drug formulations, including Tacrolimus and Co-trimoxazole. The prices for Tacrolimus (0.5 mg), 1 mg, and 2 mg have been fixed at Rs 20.97, Rs 39.98, and Rs 77.69, respectively. Non-compliance with the set prices will result in penalties. The NPPA has also revised the ceiling prices for Tramadol and Temozolomide. Moreover, the ceiling price fixation for orthopedic knee implants has been extended for one more year. Read More...

Nov 17,2023: In one of the cases, DMC had confirmed the punishment of Agarwal by removing his name from the State Medical Register for a period of 90 days. The council had taken this decision after receiving a complaint in which a woman had died allegedly due to medical negligence during treatment at Agarwal Medical Centre. Exercise is good for your health. Regular physical activity helps a person have stronger bones and muscles, helps control body fat, helps prevent certain illnesses, and contributes to a good outlook on life. Regular exercise helps promote digestion and a good night’s sleep. When children exercise as part of their busy lives, they are better equipped to manage the physical and emotional challenges of a busy day. Many governments and other organizations recommend at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity every week.
