Drugs worth Rs 32L seized from unlicensed dealer in Trichy
TRICHY, January 2014: Drug controller officials, Trichy, seized 'Vicks Action 500' tablets worth Rs 32 lakh from an unlicensed pharmaceuticals dealer during a raid conducted in the city recently. A case was registered and the drug sample has been sent for verification.
10 kg of pseudoephedrine seized, two arrested in Delhi
NEW DELHI, January 2014: Two people were arrested here along with 10 kg of pseudoephedrine valued at Rs.40 lakh ($64,000) in the international market, police said Monday. Shiv Singh Chauhan, 39, and Ram Ugrah, 57, were Friday nabbed following a tip-off from near the Jama Masjid area where they had gone to supply it to one of their contacts.

Medicines sold at Asaram ashram found to be below standard
SURAT, January 2014: The Food and Drug Control Administration of Gujarat government has found the samples of Ayurvedic medicines collected from Asaram Ashram in Surat to be below standard. The samples were collected after the registration of rape complaints against controversial religious leader Asaram and his son Narayan Sai on October 6.
Medicine trading to go online in Odisha soon
BHUBANESWAR, December 2013: Regulating the medicine market, both sale and manufacture, is set to go online soon, drugs controller Hrusikesh Mahapatra said here on Monday. From an application to open a chemist shop to issue of drug licence to wholesalers and retailers, renewal of licence, issue and renewal of licence to manufacturers, enforcement reporting and complaints by the general public, everything will be online, Mahapatra told this reporter.

KATHMANDU, January 2014: A police team deployed from the Narcotic Drugs Control Bureau (NDCB), New Baneshwor has rounded up two youths with pharmaceutical drugs on Tuesday. The arrestees are Suren Nagarkoti (20), and Sharmik Nagarkoti (23) of Ramechhap, currently residing in Lalitpur Sub-metropolitan, police said today.
