At present, our country is the second most populous country in the world with nearly 1.34 billion of the world’s population and is anticipated to be the world’s most populated country by 2022, surpassing China, which currently holds the top position. With ongoing trend, it is estimated that the global population would cross 10 billion by the year 2050.

 

Every nook and cranny of India today represents the clear image of increasing population. There are many reasons which lead India to the second most populous nation in the world. Some of these reasons include:

 

  • Early Marriage
  • Poverty
  • Illiteracy
  • Preference for Male Child

 

Impact of Over Population

 

This rapidly growing population leads to several major issues. Some of these are:

 

  • Unemployment
  • Exploitation of Environmental Resources
  • Burden on Infrastructure

Noticing that the country's population has grown massively over some years, we must stress on the importance of contraceptive products. Contraception allows people to attain their desired number of children and determine the spacing of pregnancies while keeping STDs at bay. Today with the advancement in medical technologies people have several options to adopt, such as long-acting reversible contraceptives, vaginal microbicide rings and one-size diaphragms.

 

By using contraception, women not only can prevent unwanted pregnancies but fulfill their ambitions. Early pregnancy can raise serious health consequences for both expecting mother and baby.
