The Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) signed a Memorandum of Agreement on 1st July, 2021. The two agencies have agreed to work together to track, monitor & identify advertisements related to food & beverages (F&B) sector & take action against those that violate provisions of the FSS Act, 2006 Regulations governing the electronic print media.

On 2nd June, 2021, the Union Cabinet approved the Model Tenancy Act, provisions of which shall effectively streamline the rights & duties of the landlords while significantly impact the bargaining power of the tenants.
Even though a “tenant” in not a “consumer” as per the legal definition, Consumer Online Foundation recently resolved a tenant-landlord dispute through Mediation. The NGO sought no profit out of the process & the matter stood amicably resolved in just one virtual sitting.
